Firstly, i would like to start this post by wishing the 2 surviving teenage children of Toby Day a speedy recovery. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and when all the minutiae of his relationship with his wife and kids comes out in the wash they have probably been in the wrong place for quite a while!

Why do i say that? Well, i do'nt trust the Police for a start! They singularly fail to impress me at almost every interaction i have with them and spectacularly fail the British public in their 'modus operandi'.

I have big issues of why people want to enter the Police 'service' in the first place? I would like to think that they are embarking on a career to serve and protect the public by enforcing the laws that are passed in this country by the elected representatives in Westminster.
In reality i do not think that, certainly these days, many enter for these reasons at all.
The lure of the safe, well paid, job with, paid in for, and massively-enhanced retirement pension.

Paid sick-leave, the Police have one of the highest sickness/absenteeism rates in the country - it's a license to print money....................our money!

Then there is THAT uniform. There is definately something about a uniform and more importantly the power and control that the wearer can exert and the associated intimidation that can eminate from said uniform.
Most people, that i know anyway and i do not mix with the criminal underclasses, (although i do know a few coppers) have been on the receiving end of Police Power Projection. They routinely use their position to intimidate and bully the general public. From being told to 'move along there' when they require you to fuck off so that you do'nt take pictures on your mobile of them harrassing somebody to not being allowed to fuck off at a legal demonstration because you are being illegally restrained by their so-called 'kettling' techniques thus preventing peace-loving old ladies and pregnant mothers from going for a piss as they are deemed a potential terrorist threat and a general menace to society.

Below - as a, lifelong, birdwatcher it might be timely to advise the Police 'force' where the term 'kettling' actually originates. It actually refers to the spiralling 'thermals' generated by rising air currents. Large birds e.g. Cranes, Storks and many Birds of Prey take advantage of these, particularly during the Spring and Autumn migration period when moving from Europe to Africa. 'Bottlenecks' occur at strategic, narrow, geographic land-masses, most notably Gibraltar, The Bosphorus and Eilat in Israel. It is a great pity that a term, used to describe one of the most spectacular migratory displays has been adopted by the Police and has been ascribed sinister connotations!

I quote the above because most, if not all, of todays generation of Police recruits will not have heard this famous quote! It should also serve as a reminder to the reasons why recruits should consider joining the Police..........'force'.

Just look at the situation now - pensioners forced to take off belts and shoes etc - we all know who the target audience is and are getting fucked off with all this PC correctness - try flying out of Lutonistan Airport where everybody checking you and loading your baggage looks a potential terrorist from the target audience!

Digressing as usual - suffice to say i am not a fan of the Plods and remain distinctly underwhelmed by their not so subtle combination of aggressive attitude, disdain to the public, cliqueiness and low intelligence.
I am staggered at the amount of well-wishers that have said they ca'nt understand it, he was a great bloke blah blah. When the truth comes out you will find that he will be a control freak, obsessed with his career and associated interests and could'nt handle a crumbling marriage. Unfortunately his long-suffering wife is no longer with us to give us the messy details but his two teenage kids, who he tried to kill in front of his wife, will hopefully pull through. Only time will tell and then they can spill the beans.
I, personally, have nothing but contempt for the selfish cunt. He joins the all-too-long list of jilted lovers, disgruntled single parents and possesive boyfriends that have, at the very least, murdered their wife/girlfriend/kids and sometimes gone the whole hog and.........done the decent thing and topped themselves thus saving the taxpayer the expense of feeding, clothing and housing them for a considerable time!
Domestic violence is everywhere - 1 in 10 households, not just the sink-estates but leafy suburbia and the Police. The Police have a high incidence of 'career inbreeding' i.e. marrying another
copper, this also leads to a high incidence of cover-ups viz-a-viz the DV statistics. They look after themselves, Police themselves and arrest themselves. It is only high-profile incidents that involve murder that we get to hear about.

Domestic Violence is rife in the ethnic communites as well. Even though the PC-correct mummy-kiss-it-better Liberals would have you believe otherwise. When i say ethnic what i actually, specifically mean is the Muslim community. Unlike some communities which are matriarchal and others which have evolved to be more or less equal in responsbilites, Muslim society, the World over is governed by..................men. Bearded, blinkered, overbearing males - a bit like CAMRA.
What with covert Sharia 'law' operating in most Muslim communties, (not just Asian but also Somalia and Yemeni) forced marriages, (upto an estimated 8,000 per year) so-called 'honour' killings! - What a domestically-violent ticking time-bomb we are storing up for the next generation.
Makes our 'home grown' stuff a bit tame by comparison.
What was going through Toby Days' mind on that dreadful day, only he will know although other details will emerge after the 2, surviving, kids have made statements. It is already 'rumoured' that he was making his wife 'watch' the stabbings of the 3 kids. What makes somebody do something like that?
We already know that he had been sacked from the Police - which was 'his life'. According to 'friends' he 'lived' for the Plods and was never 'off duty'. Well i do'nt know about you but i do'nt need either a friend or a neighbour who is either of those thank you very much!

His wife had started to lose some weight recently. Nothing wrong with that. It is also 'rumoured' that she was'nt losing it for Tobes' - possibly a new love interest? Whatever, Tobes' spent time using the Police computer files and system to track somebody who he suspected of being the 'love rat'.

Day, also a local football referee, had won awards for his bravery. - We all know, football pitches can be dangerous places!
In 2001 he twice confronted thieves he thought were acting suspiciously and held them until back up arrived. In one of those incidents he was stabbed with a screw driver and in the other he detained a crook high on drugs in front of daughter Kim. - He's lucky it was'nt a knife, they can kill you!

Two friends from Leicestershire are running in the London Marathon in memory of a friend who was murdered. Policewoman Melissa Ward, 28, was killed by her boyfriend at her home in Rutland in January 2006. Melissa's friends Darren Smith, 34, and Toby Day, 33, are raising money for Crimestoppers by running the race. Melissa's body was found in the kitchen of her home in Oakham on 5 January 2006 next to the body of Benedict Marlow, 33, who had killed himself.

In an article entitled, ‘Beyond the call of duty: Praise for officer who puts himself out to protect others’ we reported that Mr Day was looking after a friend’s baby when he stumbled upon thieves breaking into cars. Four weeks later he took his daughter Kimberley, then aged four, to Tesco and ended up fighting with a drugged-up shoplifter. He said: “Kim thought it was great. She knew what I was going to do and said, are you going to nick him, Dad?”
The ex-cop also campaigned for a change to dangerous driving laws following his involvement in a high speed chase which resulted in the deaths of two colleagues in August 2002. He was the first on the scene of the incident which involved a runaway drink driver who crashed his van at 80mph into a police car on the A42. Mr Day, then a detective sergeant, met with politicians in London to campaign for tougher sentences on drivers who fail to stop for the police. He also featured in a three part series screened by Central News called Licence to Kill. Speaking in October 2006, he said: “I believe dranconian measures are necessary to stop more families losing loved ones.” - The Police kill far me innocent citizens each year in their own Jeremy-Clarkson fuelled road chases!
On Friday, sources said that things came to his head after he discovered his wife had been having an affair and Day, 37, accessed the police national computer seeking details of her boyfriend. He was suspended in September after his superiors were made aware of what he was doing, and was dismissed for it last week.
Neighbours claimed the ‘perfect neighbour’ forced his wife to watch as he attempted to kill their children before murdering her and turning the knife on himself.
In a macabre twist, earlier this year, Day worked on the case of Iraqi Aram Aziz, 32, who killed his wife and two young children before killing himself. Joy Small, 24, was found dead in her Leicester home along with her three-year-old son Aubarr, and daughter Chanarra, two, in February. Officers went to her flat after discovering the body of Aziz hanging in a country park.

Well, it all came to an abrupt end with the coward taking the life of his wife and one of his kids, make no mistake he would have killed the other two had the girl not run off. The boy survived by chance, his Father either already dead or dying.
